Aloha my fellow planet Earth residents! I hope all is well in your world. It’s been a wonderful past month and I wanted to share some of the highlights as well as my performances for the rest of March and April. LIFE IS GOOD!
The Honolulu Festival this year was filled with lots of surprises including this 4 story dragon! Yikes!
As a part of the Honolulu Festival we also witnessed the most breathtaking fireworks display I have ever seen. It was put together by a Japanese company that has a reputation for the biggest and best! That’s my awesome Japan!
I even made a new friend at the festival. Everyone meet Hokulani!
Went to the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra concert. They played the music of John Williams. What a magical night with many of my friends playing in the orchestra. Way to go gang! Former timpanist with the group Stuart Chafetz was conducting and he was superb!
Had a surprise at the concert! They’re really not as scary as I thought. Still, I was a little nervous after growing up fearing The Empire. 🙂
Performed with an all faculty band for the Faculty Follies at Iolani School. The gym was packed and we brought the house down with versions of Mas Que Nada and Word Up. It was funny realizing just how many of the words I knew to Word Up during rehearsal and I had never even sung it before! Genetic memory is indeed a powerful thing. Many thanks to Peter Greenhill, Guia Melo, Manny Dayao, Rob Duvall, Mike Park, Daniel Gilad and Debbie Otsu! You guys rocked!
This is one of the reasons I LOVE Hawaii! It’s a full on double rainbow…what does it mean?!!
